  8.                 sonnel with experience working on solid state com-
  9.                 munications equipment.  Damage caused by im-
  10.                 properly installing this modification may cause
  11.                 ICOM to charge for subsequent repairs to the
  12.                 product.  ICOM does not warrant this modification.

  18.  Subject:       When the power is applied to the repeater the
  19.                 CTCSS is enabled automatically.  If it is desired
  20.                 to disable the CTCSS at power up this modification
  21.                 may be made to the repeater.
  22.  
  23.  Information:   On the control unit IC8 is a dual D type of latch.
  24.                 The Q and not Q outputs on this IC control the
  25.                 CTCSS enable line.  To disable the CTCSS encoder
  26.                 at power up or system reset pins 12 and 13 on IC8
  27.                 must be exchanged.

  29.  Procedure
  30.  
  31.   1.  Remove the control board from the chassis.
  32.  
  33.   2.  Cut the trace going from R20 to pins 9 and 12 on IC8.
  34.  
  35.   3.  Cut the trace going from J2 to pin 13 on IC8.
  36.  
  37.   4.  Add a jumper wire from the land cut on R20 to pin 13 on IC8.

  39.   5.  Add a jumper wire from the cut trace on J2 to pins 9 and 12
  40.       of IC8.

  42.   6.  Reinstall the control PCB back in the chassis.

  44.  Operation
  45.  
  46.       After this modification is made A125 will turn the CTCSS on
  47.       and A126 will turn the CTCSS off.
